Android Engineer (m/f/x)

We are looking for an Android Engineer to join our Apps team, a compact business unit within our Customer-Facing Department. This unique position will give you the freedom to make quick decisions and chart your own technical course, while still being integral to rebuy's overall mission.

You will be responsible for creating an exceptional shopping experience that turns first-time buyers into lifelong fans of sustainable electronics and media. Our Android and iOS apps serve thousands of customers daily, helping them buy and sell pre-owned products with ease.

As our new teammate, you'll be at the center of shaping both buying and selling channels in our shopping app, improving the experience for our Android customers. You'll own the full customer journey from discovery to checkout, bringing new product features to life while contributing to our endeavors to integrate KMM (Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile) into our ecosystem.

We're seeking a middle to senior level developer who is open-minded, has no aversion to different technologies, and is interested in growing both horizontally by acquiring more skills and vertically by elevating their Android knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shape our Android shopping app and bring new features to our customers

• Collaborate with a passionate team to ideate, plan, design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications

• Contribute to every stage of the app development process, from concept through to delivery and support

• Work directly with our PHP-Middleware backend to implement end-to-end features

• Solve problems across different domains when needed, not limiting yourself to just Android development

• Innovate and implement new features that align with our vision and user needs

• Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of mobile solutions with our website

• Maintain the quality of our Android Appa and its up-to-dat tech stack

• Minimum 4 yeas of experience working in Android development

• Proficiency in Kotlin

• Knowledge of Jetpack Compose

• Willingness to work on backend systems and solve problems outside the Android domain

• Adaptability and enthusiasm for learning new technologies

Nice to have:

• Experience with Redux/ MVI architecture

• PHP knowledge

• KMM experience

• Experience with e-commerce or marketplace applications
