Job description

We are looking for a Head of Pricing who will own the function with the most direct and immediate impact on our margin. In a two-sided marketplace where we set prices on both what we pay for supply and what we charge buyers, every pricing decision affects customer trust, working capital and inventory velocity, and is thus a primary commercial lever.

This is a senior commercial role that will have a margin target, direct access to leadership (reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer), and the mandate to build something world-class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the integrated buy-side and sell-side pricing framework across Consumer Electronics and Media for both fast- and slow-moving inventory. Ensure buy prices are explicitly tied to sell-side economics by designing, optimizing, and scaling a data-driven pricing engine and establishing its operational governance

  • Align pricing and margin management with broader business levers, integrating strategies like B2B sourcing, promotional campaigns, and clearing cycles to maximize profitability

  • Drive blended and category-specific gross margin percentages as your primary KPI. Hold full accountability for diagnosing margin fluctuations and executing corrective commercial strategies

  • Lead and develop a direct team of pricing analysts and data scientists, while influencing indirect, cross-functional teams to embed pricing discipline across the business

Job requirements

  • 8-12 years commercial experience with at least 5-6 years specifically owning pricing strategy at scale, including designing the framework

  • Deep understanding of dynamic pricing - algorithmic repricing, yield management, price elasticity estimation and application

  • Hands-on analytical capability - builds margin models and elasticity analyses directly, does not depend on others to do the quantitative work

  • Genuine familiarity with data science methods applied to pricing - understands how models, pricing approaches and demand forecasting work well enough to set objectives, interrogate methodology and challenge outputs

  • Has worked closely with data science or advanced analytics teams, and is able to translate commercial pricing problems into modeling briefs and convert model outputs into operational decisions without losing either the commercial logic or the statistical integrity

  • Comfortable with pricing technology - repricing tools, competitor monitoring platforms, pricing data pipelines

  • Proficient English; German is a plus

Preferred:

  • Direct recommerce, refurbished goods or consumer electronics/ media experience

  • Experience connecting buy-side and sell-side pricing as an integrated system

  • Has built pricing capability from an underdeveloped baseline rather than optimised a mature function

  • Understanding of working capital management and how pricing decisions affect cash conversion cycle
